Letter Rip

Letter Rip is a Flash word game with arcade style sounds that you can play timed or untimed. In the timed game, the first level gives you two minutes to come up with a minimum of ten words. The letters are set up in a honeycomb style grid. As you click on a letter, you’ll see it light up. After that, you can choose from any adjacent letter to continue constructing your word. Remember, only adjacent letters can be used. As you make words, the counter on the upper right will indicate how many words you have left to make until you can move to the next level. There are eight levels available in the timed version

The point value of each letter is shown at the bottom of every hexagon the letter is placed in. Consecutive use of the same hexagons (and the letters in them) gives you a higher point value per letter. Also, the point value of the word increases dramatically dependent on the length of the word you spell. Two letter words are not allowed.

Another feature of the untimed version of Letter Rip is the ability to use a helper button called “Shuffler”. If you get stuck trying to spell words or can’t find any words within your current letter options, use the shuffler button to rearrange the existing letters on the board. This will give you a better chance to complete the required amount of words to move to the next level before time runs out. You can use the shuffler three times in a level.

Between each level, a popup box tells you how many words you need to find, what your highest point value word was in the last level, and a suggestion on how to get higher scores as you move forward.

You can choose to play the untimed version as well. It has 100 levels and includes three more helper buttons: Xtra-Shuffler, Letter Swapper and Wild Chip. These allow you more options to make extra words when you get stuck.
